For some marketers, getting their articles listed on Google News is part of the SEO strategy for their business. Getting your article information listed on Google News is harder than many people realize. Google recently introduced two new features that will make it easier for content publishers to list articles on Google News.

In a blog post for December 10th, Google unveiled the new features. According to Google, “Today we are announcing the launch of Publisher Center to help publishers more easily manage how their content appears across Google products. Publisher Center merges two existing tools, Google News Producer and Google News Publisher Center, improving their user experience and functionality.”

Google’s new Publisher Center merges two old tools, Google News Producer and Google News Publisher Center. In addition to merging the features of these tools, Google says the user experience and functionality is also improved. Overall, these tools will make publishing to Google News much easier than before.

With the new Publisher Center tools, content creators will be able to control elements of their written content so it looks better for Google News. For example, Publisher Center’s new features include a simpler way to manage your publication’s identity, like updating light and dark theme logos.

There are several other ways that Publisher Center can be used to help writers who want to see their content on Google News. Publisher Center makes it easier for website owners with multiple publications organize and switch between the categories, particularly with improved permission settings that make it easier to collaborate with colleagues.

Additionally, publishers can now point to the URLs for their website’s sections instead of using RSS protocols to configure sections in Google News. Content for News will now come directly from the web, just as it does for Search.

Because Google News is publishing in many languages, it’s important for the Publisher Content tool to provide fast language services. Right now, languages are quickly translated to

Publisher Center launches today in the existing four languages of the previous tools (English, Spanish, French, and German). It’s believed that Google will transform and language options will expand to include new languages soon.

On your first time visiting Publisher Center, you’re greeted with a message that explains, “Manage, distribute, and monetize your content across Google properties right here.

If you have multiple publications, you can efficiently manage multiple accounts and publications by creating and switching between different organizations.”
