How to Optimize Your Video Content For Search Engine SuccessUsing online marketing to spread the word about your business and the services/products it offers is important. Most business owners understand that in order to attract attention from modern consumers, they need to provide a wide array of content. One of the most popular forms of content on the Internet is video. Popular video platforms like YouTube have over 400 hours of new video uploaded to their site every minute.

With all of the videos on the Internet, getting attention from search engines like Google can be difficult. This is why you need to focus on using proven SEO tactics for your videos. The following are some of the things you should consider when attempting to optimize your videos for search engine success.

Create Website Landing Pages For Your Videos

When creating a video to put on popular platforms like YouTube, your main goal should be increasing the flow of traffic to your website. By increasing website traffic, you can also increase the number of leads you receive. Most business owners use their videos as a way to inform consumers about their products and services. Having a specific landing page for each of these videos is a great way to continue the consumer education process.

The links that come from websites like YouTube usually put more engaged consumers on your domain. The more informed and engaged a consumer is, the easier you will find it to convert them into an actual customer. A landing page needs to be optimized with lots of information and keywords to attract attention from search engines. While creating these landing pages will be time-consuming, it is worth the effort considering the increase in viable sales leads they can create.

Don’t Forget to Add Structured Data

Every time your video is shared on websites like Twitter or Facebook, information referred to as structured data is transferred. If you don’t have structured data in place, Google will attempt to create this data on its own. This search engine uses a process called scraping to get the structured data it needs. If your video shows up in a Google search without the right structured data, it will be devoid of a description and image.

Your structured data will need to include things like video duration, description, name and upload data. By having this data in place, you can make it much easier for consumers to find the video with a simple Google search.

Encourage Social Sharing

Whether you are posting a video to your business blog or YouTube channel, getting watchers to share it on social media should be one of your top concerns. Rather than assuming watchers will know you want them to share this content, you need to put a request for them to do so in the video. At the end of each of your videos, encourage watchers to like and share your video.
